Man Allegedly Threatens Resident, Points Machete/Sword at 5 Year Old

A Lawrence man allegedly assaulted a Northborough woman, and "recently pointed a machete/sword" at her 5-year-old child, Northborough Police said Sunday night.

Police arrested Jonathan Marquez, 26, of 81 Hancock St., First Floor, Lawrence and charged him with three counts of domestic assault and battery, and one count each of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a dangerous weapon, malicious destruction of property under $250, and threatening to commit a crime.

The victim "spoke with an officer over the telephone" on Saturday and alleged that Marquez assaulted her, police said in a press release.

"After interviewing the victim and her children it was learned that Marquez had committed numerous physical assaults and conveyed numerous threats towards the victim and her children over the course of a months time," police said.

Marquez was held pending arraignment Monday in Westborough District Court.
