10 Goats Die in Fire at Tougas Family Farm

Four baby goats escaped the 20 by 30 out-building at 246 Ball St., although at least one was burned.

Ten goats died in an accidental electrical fire at the Tougas Family Farm on Wednesday morning, Northborough Fire Chief David Durgin said.

Four baby goats escaped the 20 by 30 out-building at 246 Ball St., although at least one was burned, Durgin said.

A passerby called 911 around 6:30 a.m. to report the fire, Durgin said.

The first firefighters arriving saw the building "fully involved, and almost completely destroyed," the chief said.

No one was injured in the fire, he said.

The Boylston Fire Department brought a tender, which is a water truck, to the scene, Durgin said.

Westborough firefighters staffed the Northborough fire station during the incident.

The Tougas Family Farm is closed for the season.
