DA Releases Photos, Video of Skateshop Murder Suspects, Asks for Help

The Middlesex District Attorney has released video footage and still camera shots of suspects believed to be involved in the fatal Main Street shooting of Shawn Clark last month.

The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Malden Police and State Police are asking for the public's help in identifying suspects seen in surveillance footage during a fatal shooting at the Patriot Skateboards shop last month.

Shawn Clark, the store's owner, was found fatally wounded there on January 29.

Authorities have been quiet about details of the attack; these are the first, few details that have been released to the public since the day of the shooting.

"Authorities ask that the public’s attention be drawn, in particular, to the size of the suspects, their facial and bodily appearances, their gait, and the clothing that they are wearing," the press release reads.

"Authorities are trying to identify two males who are depicted on the video surveillance tapes and still photos taking part in the incident, who appear to be dark skinned males, wearing dark clothing, one of whom was armed with a handgun," it later concludes.

Both men are seen in the footage wearing black jackets and hoods over their faces.

"One of those suspects is reported to be approximately more than 6 feet tall, the other between approximately 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall.

"Following a confrontation between the store owner, Shawn Clark, and the 2 suspects inside the store, the victim was shot multiple times on the sidewalk just outside the front door of the store.

"The suspects fled on foot, down Edmund Street."

Hey, we're nowhere NEAR first for check-cashing places. Nail salons I'll grant you.

"Stop Snitching", wan't that like over five years ago, when that culture existed? Everyone needs to take a step back and realize that Shawn only owned this shop, "Patriot Skate Boards" for around two years. The previous owner, when the shop was "Ocean Frog" might have been the one that sold the shirts, if they were ever sold in Malden. I don't remember those shirts ever being sold in Malden. The previous owner is also the one that had a problem with letting minors drink and do other shenanighans there. Everyone has to check the facts and do the research before they openly comment on items that are just not true. That three store block, had a lot of problems when the Ocean Frog shop was there, as well as when the office for the sober house was on the left side. There were lots of people in the area then, and often they were drug addicts going to the office looking for housing, addicts in recovery coming to pay rent, and addicts in recovery coming for drug tests. Since the sober house office left, and Ocean Frog left, the block improved dramatically. That was all inside of a two year window, or right around two years now.

So did they fight inside then the shot him outside

According to witness reports, the fight started inside the store, and then continued outside the store. The victim was shot outside the store. Again, according to witness reports. I am not aware that this information has been confirmed by the police. Live interviews by the media on the afternoon of the shooting also corroborate this information. The police have not released many details, as the investigation is still ongoing.

No, no, it was Patriot Skate Shop selling "Stop Snitching" shirt- whether or not that's part of skate culture, I saw them. I actually stopped and was going to go in and tell them that it sent a terrible message to the kids who go in there, but I sat there for a minute and figured there wasn't much chance of making anybody in the shop see my point of view. I'm not trying anything, swear (r.e. "nice try"). I don't have any agenda at all- no matter what, I think it's absolutely terrible what happened to this guy. Just this one thing keeps sticking in my crawl. Who knows? Maybe those shirts were in the window right when he bought it or something.
