Alleged Repeat Drunken Driver Strikes Tree

An alleged repeat drunken driver was arrested after his car struck a tree and then he left the accident scene Thursday night.

Northborough Police charged Christopher James Burton, 39, of 10 Stone Drive, Northborough with operating under the influence of liquor, third offense; leaving the scene of property damage; negligent operation of a motor vehicle; and a marked lanes violation, according to the Northborough Police log.
Police received a report of a crash on Hudson Street at 9:14 p.m., according to the log. Police arrested the suspect on Pond View Way at 9:44 p.m. Police called McFee and Newton for a tow.
