Sneaky Radar Trap

I was shocked to see a police officer standing behind a real estate open house sign on Church Street operating his radar equipment. The officer was barely visible because he was hiding behind the sign. I understand Church Street is heavily traveled with many cars exceeding the speed limit, however, seeing an officer hiding behind a sign seems odd. Why wasn't he in a car? Where was his car? Do the home owner and realtor approve of him there? Yes, I have lots of questions but the biggest one is why was the officer hiding behind the sign. Very odd...
