Great Escape: Dinner and Dancing

Dinner, dancing and a fun place to drop your kids for the evening. This Friday night is yours!

Each week, we'll tell you about one great idea to give you a much deserved break from the stress of the work-week and your everyday lives. This week, escape on Friday night, March 18, for a fun evening of dinner and dancing with your spouse and leave the kids happy as well.

First things first -- get those kids settled. They don't want to be stuck at home watching Mary Poppins with their grandparents. It's an off night, and they just aren't in the mood to terrorize their teenaged babysitter, either. Northboro Recreation has the answer, in the form of a kids' pizza and game night. From 5-9 p.m., kids ages 8-13 can hang out and party with their peers in the new 38 Southwest Cutoff space, enjoying pizza, games and camaraderie. It's only $25 and an extra $10 for each sibling , cheaper than most sitters, so go to the link above to make your reservations.

Now that you've gotten rid of the kids, head to for an evening of dinner, dancing and live jazz music. The Leonardo Room opened in December, adding 75 new tables and a dance floor. Start at the bar with a cocktail, enjoy a leisurely Italian dinner and then swing and sway to the tunes of live jazz until you've got to pick the kids up at 9:00.

It's not every night the kids can be an happy as you are, especially when you're separated, so take advantage!
