FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK


Where/When:
on Wednesday, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Why Go: Treat your kids, and your wallet, to a free meal with the purchase of one entree. Then let them take the stage to show off their talent by singing their favorite songs.

Where/When: on Wednesday, 6-7 p.m.
Why Go:  The book club meets once a month to discuss a particular book.
Drop in to get a copy of this month's book and to sign up. Recommended for grades 5 and up.

CHILDREN'S PLAY GROUP - AGES 1-6
Where/When: SW Rec Center, 38 Southwest Cutoff on Thursday, 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Why Go:  The new SW Rec Center is a safe and fun place for your kids to run around and interact with other children.  There, they will be able to use the obstacle course, balls, mats, tunnels, scooters and more.
Pricing: $5 - Register on their Web site.


Where/When: on Tuesday, 9:30 a.m.-7 p.m.
Why Go: Looking for something to do with the kids during school vacation? Stop by to make your own lego creations.
Pricing: Free - Small Legos and some duplo-sized Legos available.

• PAINT YOUR OWN POTTERY
Where/When: PYOP Studio, 290 West Main St., Northborough, Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sundays 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Why Go: Because kids love to make stuff, and they will feel really proud giving some handmade pottery to you. Besides, depending on the finished product, you may be able to use it in the kitchen. Long gone are the days when kids just put their handprint in an ashtray. Some really cute stuff comes out of this studio. PYOP offers planned parties, too.
