Yes, Happy National Tap Dance Day! Recently I did a post dedicated to tap dancing and its significant influence on my life: "Everything (or a lot of) what I need to know Iearned at tap dance class" As the least advanced student in my Intermediate II class, I've picked up a few things on the dance floor that can be applied to life's daily rises and falls and that would also have come in handy during my formative kindergarten days. Stay loose and relaxed. Repeat, stay loose and relaxed! Rhythm exists in all of our moments, on stage and off, except when. . .actually there are no exceptions. Balance: Keep your knees bent and lean forward slightly, your weight on your toes, otherwise, when it comes time to really hoof it, you'll be a loafer.
