Northborough Remembers Tonya List

Tonya M. (Spadafore) List, 74, formerly of Deacon Street, Northborough, died Nov. 11, 2013 at home after a five-year bout with pancreatic cancer.

She leaves her devoted husband of 34 years, Richard S. List; stepsons, Stephen List and wife Carol, David List and wife Christine; her granddaughter, Nicole Dimuzio and her husband Jason; grandsons, Michael, Jacob and Bryan List; great-grandson Christian Dimuzio; her sister, Sonya Zurawski and her husband Dr. James Zurawski; and her niece, Heidi Malin and her husband Jeffrey.

Born and raised in Detroit, Tonya was the daughter of the late Anthony and Louise (Grant) Spadafore. Mrs. List lived in Northborough for the past 19 years and 17 years in Marlborough.

Tonya spent her career as an elementary school teacher and reading specialist. She also worked as a product manager and senior editor of Ginn and Company. Tonya was a former owner/operator of Woodbridge Associates, a professional development and teacher training and consulting company.

She was an active member of St. Rose of Lima Church. Over the years, her parish involvement included: CCD teacher, RCIA and lector. Mrs. List was a volunteer for Northborough Food Pantry, Northborough Library Board of Directors and Birchwood Community Library.

Calling hours will be held Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St. Northborough. Tonya’s funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 15 at 10 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 266 West Main St. Northborough. A private burial will take place in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
