Northborough Remembers Phyllis Miles

Her funeral will take place on Friday.

Phyllis A. (Johnson) Miles, 90, of Northborough, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Oct. 27, 2013 in Beaumont of Northborough. Her husband Warren L. Miles died in 1998.

She leaves behind two sons, Richard Miles and his wife Joanne of Wilmington, and David Miles and his wife Jo-Ann of Dover, N.H.; two daughters, Cynthia Siska and her husband Gerald of Northborough and Shirley Coakley and her husband Daniel of Newtown, Conn.; 10 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; her sister, Jane Easley of Dexter, Maine; and nieces and nephews.

Born in Dexter, Maine, she was the daughter of Harry and Ruth (Fernald) Johnson. Phyllis lived in Northborough since 1951. Mrs. Miles was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her family meant everything to Phyllis.

Years ago, she worked as a clerk at Marlboro Savings Bank.

Mrs. Miles was a longtime member of Trinity Church. She enjoyed doing puzzles and bowling at Sawyer’s Bowladrome until just recently. She was an avid Red Sox fan.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. Her funeral will take place on Friday, Nov. 1 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by burial in Howard Street Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
