Northborough Remembers George Bodah Jr.

Funeral services, followed by burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, are private.

George F. Bodah Jr., 92, of Clinton and Northborough, died Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, in Shrewsbury Crossings in Shrewsbury, after a brief illness.

He leaves his wife of 68 years, Irene C. (Burton) Bodah; a daughter, Debra C. Burke, and her husband, Larry, of Northborough; a son, Kenneth J. Bodah and his wife, Lia, of North Carolina; four grandchildren: Caitlyn Merry and her husband, Matthew, of Peterborough, NH, Meghann Burke of Westford, and Heidi Bodah and Jacqueline Tobine, both of North Carolina; and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, David F. Bodah, who died in 2010.

George was born and raised in Clinton, son of George and Frances (Kraft) Bodah Sr. A graduate of Clinton High School, Class of 1939, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving from 1942 to 1945. He was a longtime resident of Clinton, before moving to Falmouth, and later, Northborough, many years ago.

For many years, George worked as a salesman at Morgan Construction Co. in Worcester, retiring in the 1980s.

He was a former member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Clinton. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Hyannis Sheraton Golf Course, and enjoyed playing locally at Twin Springs and Juniper Hill.

Funeral services, followed by burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, are private. There are no calling hours. For those who wish, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Church of the Nativity, 45 Howard St., Northborough, MA 01532. McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St., Clinton, is directing arrangements.
