Northborough Remembers Carolyn Danforth

Carolyn (Hazlip) Danforth, 63, of Northborough, formerly of Westborough, died on Dec. 10, 2013 at Ichabod Washburn Hospice Residence in Worcester after a long battle with cancer.

She leaves her husband of 37 years, Thomas Danforth; her daughters, Elizabeth Danforth of Westborough and Abby Wolshin of Auburn; three sisters, Cheryl Hazlip, Sylvia Bodiford and Glynda Hazlip; and nieces and nephews.

Carolyn was raised in Texas, Oklahoma and Ohio. She graduated from the University of Akron in 1976.

Mrs. Danforth enjoyed gardening, hiking and nature and was an advocate for the homeless. As a member of Trinity Church, she traveled on mission trips to La Romana in the Dominican Republic.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, Dec. 13, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 10 a.m. in Trinity Church, 23 Main St., Northborough. Burial will be private.
