Community Remembers Francis Kane, Army Veteran

Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday.

Francis M. “Frank” Kane, 68, of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 29, 2013.  

Frank was the beloved husband of Margaret M. (Dunne) “Marge” Kane of Wilmington; devoted father of Jim Kane and his wife Melissa of Northborough, Julie Boyd and her husband Daniel of Litchfield, N.H., and Michael Kane and his wife Colleen of Mansfield; loving grandfather of Makayla, Cameron, Hannah, Paige and Harrison; cherished son of the late Thomas J. and Catherine J. (Madden) Kane; and dear brother of Thomas J. Kane of Plymouth and the late Kevin J. Kane.  Frank is also survived by many special sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Route 62), Wilmington, on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 11:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Theresa’s Church, 63 Winter St., North Reading, at 12:30 p.m.  Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.

Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Nov. 1 from 4 to 8 p.m.  

Memorial donations in Frank’s name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675. www.woundedwarriorproject.org.  Frank was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War.
