TELL US: Do You Have Real or Artificial Christmas Trees?

Are you willing to withstand the cold, sap and needles necessary for an 'authentic' Christmas or will a tree in a box suffice?

The Christmas tree dilemma: Purists won't go near fake trees; others can stand the thought of chopping down a tree that will leave needles, sap and leaking water in their living room.

Despite the hassle, real trees outsell their artificial cousins by more than a 3-to-1 margin each season, according to the National Christmas Tree Association. Bear in mind, of course, artificial trees can be reused every year.

Are you undertaking the Griswold family tradition this year, or are will an artificial tree do the trick for your family?

We have neither. My fiancee is from Virginia, so we visit her family for Christmas, after doing Thanksgiving here locally with my family. There's no need to decorate our house since we're always out of town.

Real tree for us. Always. This year we found a wonderful family-owned tree farm right here in Grafton! Cutting down our own tree certainly added to our Christmas spirit. It didn't hurt that the trees and ground were covered with a beautiful coating of snow on Saturday! Don't hesitate to visit them - Highfields Tree Farm, 44 Fay Mountain Rd, Grafton. And no, I have no relationship with the folks that own the farm ;-)

My family used to get a real tree each year until I was in High School. Then we got a fake ("artificial" as they say in the biz) tree. It was way easier to decorate but it just wasn't the same.

Real trees make me sneeze. My fake tree is majestic. ;-)

"Real Trees Make Me Sneeze" Would have made a good Dr. Seuss title.
