Northborough Rotarians Honor Leahy

The police chief has received the club's Pride in Workmanship Award.

Northborough Police Chief Mark Leahy has earned the Rotary Club of Northborough's admiration.

Leahy received the club's Pride in Workmanship Award last Thursday night at the Juniper Hills Country Club.

The honor recognizes "a person who has taken great pride in performing their chosen line of work," with an emphasis "on doing a good job" and whose attributes include being cheerful and knowledgeable "exemplary" work "for an extended period of time," according to Rotarian Andy Dowd.

One person who nominated Leahy said "he runs a great department, and everyone appreciates that. The public service that his staff provides the town. He has a great attitude in his position," Dowd said.

Leahy has been Northborough's police chief for about 10 years, Dowd said.
