The Corridor Nine Area Chamber of Commerce's recent annual food drive collected 11,447 items for local food pantries, Vice President Karen Chapman said Wednesday.
The chamber's goal was 10,000 items, Chapman said in an e-mail to chamber members.
The items will be distributed to food pantries in Westborough, Northborough, Southborough, Shrewsbury and Grafton.
The drive began in October and ended Dec. 12.
"Every item did count in this food drive and Corridor Nine is extremely grateful to our members and the community at large for every donation we received," Chapman wrote.
