New Peaslee Principal Should be Appointed by February

The superintendent said a new principal should be hired for Peaslee to start after February vacation.

Superintendent Charles Gobron said a new principal will most likely be appointed to the Peaslee School after students return from February vacation.

Former principal Scott Bazydlo left on July 1 of last year to take a position as principal of the Russell Street School in Littleton.

Mary Ryan, retired principal of the Mary Finn School in Southborough, has been serving as interim principal at Peaslee this year.

"She is doing an excellent job of preparing the school for the permanent principal who will be starting on July 1," said Gobron.

The posting for the principal opening has been running on School Spring, an online education job site, and several applications have been received. The closing date for applications is Jan. 15. A Screening Committee will be reviewing these applications later this month, and interviews will be taking place during the last days of January and first days of February, said Gobron.

"I will interview all the candidates sent to me from the Screening Committee, follow up on recommendations, and, if all goes well, appoint the new principal right after February vacation," said Gobron.
