Boost Fitness Raises $8,000 for “Pedal To End Cancer”

NORTHBORO, Mass., March 24, 2014 –Boost Fitness, the area’s premier independent fitness center, today announced that Boost raised $8,000 during its recent “Pedal to End Cancer” event.

Thirty Three riders participated in the three-hour event, which took place at Boost Fitness clubs in Northboro and Worcester.

“We more than reached our goal, which was to do even better than we did last year, when we raised more than $6,200,”  said Boost Fitness owner Mark Federico.  “Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our riders, we had a very successful event.”

Pedal to End Cancer is an indoor cycling fundraising event that benefits the American Cancer Society’s programs of cancer research, education, advocacy and services.  Participants seek sponsors and pedal for the entire three hours or share cycling time with team members.  All funds raised go to the American Cancer Society.

Since its inception as Spin for Hope in 2005, the New England Pedal to End Cancer has raised more than $2.2 million dollars.

“We plan to continue our participation in ‘Pedal To End Cancer’ and hope to raise even more next year,” Federico said.
