IMAGES: O'Driscoll's Closes After 18 Years

No meat for you! Mutton left.

a mainstay at Tymes Square Plaza for 18 years, ran out of its celebrated, fresh Italian sausage early last Friday afternoon. If you hadn't stocked up before then, you are truly out of luck. The store went out of business a few hours later.

Owner Mike O'Driscoll cited an over-saturated market as the cause of the closure.

They will be missed.

"You don't know what you've got till it's gone" seems to be an apt quote in this case. Maybe we could continue the quote with "they paved paradise and put up a Wegman's!" I will certainly miss shopping at O'Driscoll's and wish Mike and his staff all the best. They have been a part of my weekly routine and dinner plans for the 17 years I've lived in Northborough. Please support your local businesses before they disappear. I, for one, don't want Northborough's sole reason to live here (according to Boston Magazine) because we have a Wegman's.
