LETTER: No Trolley, But Shoppers Urged to Shop Locally

Kimberly Reed, manager at the Purple Rose, urges locals to keep it local.

In lieu of The Holiday Trolley being canceled this year, I would like to invite the residents of Northborough to still come out and support local businesses this holiday season.

The date of the Trolley would have been Dec. 8 and I would like continue the tradition by making this day a “Support Northborough Businesses Day."

Many town events are still taking place on this day and all retail shops and restaurants are still open for business. There is a free holiday concert at The Library starting at 11:30 a.m. and the annual tree lighting will be at 5:30 p.m. at the Ellsworth tree in the town's center.

So, get out to the great retail shops in town that day and purchase your holiday gifts. Stop and get a coffee, snack, or lunch at any of our many coffee shops and make a dinner reservation at one of our tasty restaurants.

Thank you again for your support all year round.
