Led by Jack Shanahan and the rest of the Garage staff, the program "teaches students the art of musicianship within the inner workings of a rock band. Students will explore the key differences between playing a song and performing a song."

The students, in fact, form a "band," choosing tunes they want to play, which include Maroon 5, Ozzy Osbourne, the Beatles and Elvis.

"Next, the students learn how break the song down into its various parts and examine each part’s function in the song. Students then consider the style and character of each of their instruments and decide how its sound should be used to create the best possible results. Next they build the song back up and are taught how to rehearse."

Band camp runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and you can register here. The cost is $165 for the week.
