Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) has named Kate Shaw, Northborough branch manager of Central One Federal Credit Union, a Melvin Jones Fellow in recognition of her commitment to serving the world community.
Named for the founder of Lions Clubs International, Melvin Jones, the fellowship is one of the Foundation’s highest recognitions, honoring the commitment to humanitarian service.
Shaw is a member of the Northborough Lions Club. She recently received a commemorative plaque and lapel pin acknowledging her dedication to the foundation’s humanitarian goals. As a Melvin Jones Fellow, Kate becomes a part of the growing network of individuals who are committed to improving the quality of life for people locally and in communities around the world.

Kate Shaw, “I have been a member of the Northborough Lions since March of 2012. I was elected Treasurer in June of 2012 and served through June of 2014. I have been sworn in as King Lion (President) for the 2014-15 club year and look forward to continuing service with the town of Northborough.”
The Northborough Lions donates over $10,000 annually to local and national charities, including the Northborough Food Pantry, Algonquin Regional High School Gymnastics team, Northborough families in need of sight, hearing, and financial assistance, Clara Barton Camp, Literacy Volunteers of Worcester, Massachusetts Eye Research, Lions Sight Mobile, and Lions Club International Foundation.
