John Middleton Passes Away; LalaJava Holds Memorial Fundraiser

Lalajava's plans to hold a fundraiser for avid customer John Middleton have become an event in memory of Middleton, who passed away on Monday.

What was planned as a fundraiser for John Middleton will become a memorial event this weekend, as Middleton passed away yesterday due to complications of pancreatic cancer.

According to LalaJava's Facebook page, Middleton passed away early yesterday. "He was surrounded by family members who loved him and are comforted by the thought that he is now at peace in a better place."

LalaJava Coffeehouse, where Middleton was a regular customer, will be renaming Mr. Middleton's favorite sandwich "The John Middleton" and $1 from the sale of each of these sandwiches will go toward his daughter's college fund.

At LalaJava, two things were a given; a great cup of coffee and being greeted by Middleton. Every morning you could be sure to see Middleton enjoying a cup of tea working on his laptop. Middleton became a fixture at the popular coffee house.

LalaJava has brewed something else up for his family in memory of Middleton by hosting a fundraising event on May 5 and 6 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Middleton was a husband and father of two school aged girls, a business professional and widely known lacrosse coach and was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer just over a year ago. LalaJava and countless friends have come together to host this fundraiser where proceeds will go toward the John Middleton Fund helping offset the costs of his medical care.

LalaJava along with countless volunteers plan to brew up a weekend of fun. Face painting, a silent auction, a bake sale, hair braiding, raffles, games and more will be available. Boston Poppers Kettle Korn will be popping fresh kettle korn and donating all proceeds to the John Middleton Fund.

To donate to the John Middleton Fund or to donate items to the silent auction please contact LalaJava at 508-393-7625 or lalajava@aol.com. Donations can be made out to Laurie Middleton c/o LalaJava 290 West Main St., Northborough, MA 01532.
