“MetroWest Healthy Dining Week” Planned

MetroWest Moves and Building a Healthy Northborough, Mass in Motion initiatives in Framingham, Hudson, Marlborough and Northborough, will co-host “MetroWest Healthy Dining Week” from Nov. 1 to Nov. 10.

The goal of these Mass in Motion healthy dining initiatives is to promote better nutrition among people who live, work, and play in Framingham, Hudson, Marlborough, and Northborough.

Food establishments participate in this voluntary program by offering healthier meal and beverage options. Participating restaurants must offer healthier menu items  that meet the U.S. Dietary Guidelines for calories, fat, and sodium. These healthier options are approved by the MetroWest Moves and Building a Healthy Northborough dietitian.

Restaurants that choose to participate in MetroWest Healthy Dining Week will be featured in local and regional print and online media. They will also be featured in local school and community newsletters and promotional flyers distributed throughout the communities and receive statewide attention for  their participation such as being included in Mass in Motion listservs.

Customers who visit participating restaurants between Nov. 1 and Nov. 10 and order approved meals will have the opportunity to take a photo of themselves with their meal. They can submit the photo to the MetroWest Moves website, Facebook, or Twitter page to be entered into a raffle to receive a gift certificate to participating restaurants.
