Fitchburg Resident Sings National Anthem During Saturday's New England Revolution Game

Fitchburg’s own Whitney Doucet, sang the National Anthem during Saturday’s New England Revolution 2-0 victory against the San Jose Earthquakes at Gillette Stadium.

Doucet competed in this year’s New England Revolution National Anthem Auditions, where she was selected as a finalist to sing at a home game this season. She competed against 19 other contestants, judged by Wakefield's own "The Voice" season two contestant James Massone, season 11 "American Idol" top 10 finalist Erika Van Pelt, New England Revolution midfielder Clyde Simms and Berklee College of Music’s marketing professor, Stephanie Keller.

The judges were impressed with Doucet’s voice, crowning her and two others the winners of the singing competition.
