Boy, 9, finishes triathlon! Andrew Roberts of Northborough

My son Andrew Roberts, an upcoming Peaslee 4th grader, competed in his first triathlon today at MIT.   New England Kids Traiathlon (http://www.newenglandkidstriathlon.org/) is specifically catered to kids who want to compete in the sport like adults.  Andrew learned about the event when getting his bike at Landrys late last Summer and said, "can I do that?" and we said he could.  Last week before registering, we did a family dry run.  After  finishing, we signed him up.  Today was his big day and he jumped in the pool at MIT just after 8 AM.  He crossed the finish line (including transitions) in just under 38 minutes.  100 yards in the pool, 3 mile bike ride, followed by a 1/2 mile run, and Andrew officially became a medaled triathlete.  He is very proud (pictured here) and so are all of his friends and family!
