The Emerson Hospital Auxiliary raised more than $60,000 with another sold-out field of 148 participants in the 15th annual golf tournament held recently at Nashawtuc Country Club in Concord. Since its inception, the event has raised nearly $1 million to fund patient care services at Emerson Hospital.
The tournament included several contests, including a chance to win the grand prize of a Lexus, courtesy of Lexus of Northborough, with a hole-in-one on the 17th hole. The day also featured many other great prizes and raffles, as well as an exciting helicopter ball drop at the conclusion of the tournament. Five hundred golf balls were dropped from a helicopter and Ernest Efeterbia of Danvers, who had purchased the ball closest to the pin, won a cash prize of $1,000.
This year’s event featured 41 teams. The overall net winner of the tournament was the foursome of Robert Fireman, Jon Levine, Mike Forrest and Steve Holton from ARMS LLC, with a score of 108. The overall gross tournament champion, with a score of 137, was the P-Solve Asset Solutions team of Dan Desmarais, Dan Coldrick, DJ Langis and Rick Cunningham.
This year’s Platinum sponsors were Sodexo and Donoghue Barrett & Singal. The Gold level sponsors were AdvizeX Technologies, the DiGiovanni Family, Middlesex Savings Bank, MIG Corporation and Quest Diagnostics. The event was chaired by Jennifer Cyrs of Boxborough. Committee members included Denise Haartz of Concord, Priscilla Gannon of Wayland, Leslie Cheney of Concord, Jan Kenneally of Concord, Janine Papesh of Acton, Melissa Saalfield of Concord, Margaret Richardson of Northborough and Sally Savelle of Concord.
“We are so pleased with the turnout and the general sponsorships we received for this year’s tournament,” said Savelle, president of the Emerson Hospital Auxiliary. “All of the proceeds will go directly toward funding important programs, services and equipment that will further enhance excellence in patient care at Emerson.”
