Two Northborough Teens to Perform With Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras

Here are five pieces of information to help fuel your day in Northborough.

It's Wednesday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Northborough to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. Enjoy a book club.

The Northborough Free Library's High School Book Club meets from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the library's meeting room.

2. Play pool.

The Northborough Senior Center offers pool at 9 a.m. Wednesday.

3. Congratulate Zoe Chang and James Miotto.

These two Northborough residents will perform with the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras during the orchestras' 56th season-opening concert, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13 at Symphony Hall, the orchestras said Tuesday in a press release.

Chang, 14, plays the violin. Miotto, 16, plays the trumpet.

4. Root for the Tomahawks.

Here is Wednesday's Algonquin Regional High School sports schedule:

  • Golf: vs. Leominster, at Juniper Hills Golf Course, 3:30 p.m.
  • Varsity field hockey: at Groton-Dunstable, 4 p.m.
  • JV field hockey: at Groton-Dunstable, 5 p.m.
5. Learn about school safety.

A Safe School Readiness Community Forum was held Monday night in the Algonquin Regional High School auditorium.
