Summer Concerts Continue; Firearms Course at the Legion

Here's what we think you ought to know for Thursday, Aug. 22.

1. The schedule for construction on Otis Street has changed due to a scheduling conflict with the paver. Those living on, and those who use, Otis Street are asked to take note. 

2. On Thursday, The Massachusetts Department of Public Safety is offering a three-hour course at the American Legion to obtain a license to carry or a firearms Identification card.

3. The next in the series of summer concerts hosted by the Northborough Community Affairs Committee at Ellsworth McAfee Park happens on Thursday, Aug. 21, with a performance by the jam band 3rd Man Factor. 

4. New arrivals at the Northborough Free Library include The Sound of Things Falling: a Novel, the first complete season of The Big Bang Theory and Vader's Little Princess. Check out the newest arrivals, as well as staff picks, here. 

5. Algonquin baseball star Kevin Brown now plays for Bryant University, and was recently drafted by the Chicago Cubs, as reported by the Community Advocate.
