Seeking Librarian; Music Association Rolls Out New Site

Here's what you absolutely need to know on Wednesday, Aug. 21.

1. The Northborough Southborough Music Association is rolling out a new website in conjunction with the start of the new year. "Go Daddy is working to direct the old link to this new link but this has not happened yet. The web site strives to provide parents and student helpful and timely information about our schools music programs and special events." 

2. On Wednesday, Aug. 21, the Lincoln Street School has scheduled a brown bag lunch for new students and their parents.Meet your classmates, teachers and assistants and learn about your new place of learning. 

3. The ZBA has scheduled a meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 27, with an agenda that includes a continued consideration of the petition of Northborough Commons for a special variance in the Groundwater Protection Overlay District to allow for a proposed horizontal mixed-use development at 61 and 65 West Main St. See the full agenda here.  

4. As posted on the Northborough library's site: "The Northborough Free Library is seeking candidates for a part-time professional reference librarian to work 19 hours per week. The reference librarian answers questions from the public in person, on the phone, and by e-mail. Duties also include cataloging, collection maintenance and development, creating reading lists and displays, computer maintenance, and contributions to the library website."

5. Early Tuesday morning, a Motel 6 desk clerk was robbed at gunpoint, and police are searching for suspects.
