Attend the Regional School Committee Meeting

Here are five pieces of information to help fuel your day in Northborough.

It's Wednesday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Northborough to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. Attend the regional school committee meeting.

It's at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Algonquin Regional High School library. Two requests for overnight field trips are on the agenda.

2. Attend the Northborough Historical Commission meeting.

The board meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Northborough Town Hall Offices. The agenda is here.
 
3. Root for the Tomahawks.

Here is Wednesday's Algonquin Regional High School sports schedule:

  • JV girls ice hockey: vs. Auburn, at New England Sports Center, 3 p.m.
  • Varsity boys indoor track: at Wachusett, 4:30 p.m.
  • Varsity girls indoor track: at Wachusett, 4:30 p.m.
  • Varsity gymnastics: vs. Wachusett, 5 p.m.
  • Varsity wrestling: vs. Leominster, 6:30 p.m.
  • Varsity boys ice hockey: vs. Fitchburg, at Wallace Civic Center, 7:40 p.m.

4. In case you missed it: the snow and ice budget is running low.

The winter has consumed more than 88 percent of that budget, leaving roughly $28,000 left, Department of Public Works Director Dan Nason told selectmen Monday night.

5. Discuss a mystery.

The Northborough Free Library's Mystery Book Club discusses "Casino Royale - A James Bond Mystery," by Ian Fleming, at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
