 \n&nbsp\;\n\nHello there! I am excited to teach your children the joys o
 f making music. I believe that early exposure to the piano for young chi
 ldren needs to be fun\, interactive\, and teach musicianship as a whole 
 and not just the notes on a page. My lessons will be based on Edwin Gord
 on&rsquo\;s theories of how children learn music best.&nbsp\; Children w
 ill move to the music\, sing the notes\, and learn to think musically. A
 ll of this will help the children to play &ldquo\;musically&rdquo\;. Man
 y of us were taught to plunk out the notes\, looking back and forth at t
 he page\, similar to learning to type.&nbsp\; In my lessons\, the childr
 en will hear the melody\, move to the rhythm and be able to express the 
 music musically\, and then move it to the piano where they can play musi
 cally. Most importantly\, music making must be fun!\nI recommend the gro
 up lessons\, as children enjoy the social aspect of music making\, and a
 lso learn much from observing each other make music. You may also choose
  the private option\, or semi-private.&nbsp\; Lessons will be offered in
  my home in Berlin\, 5 minutes from the center of Northborough. Your chi
 ld will need a piano or high quality keyboard to practice on.\nPlease co
 ntact me by phone or by email as soon as possible. I am currently fillin
 g spaces for the fall\, and space is limited. Lessons will be available 
 on 2 weekday afternoons (to be determined based on your availability). L
 essons are also available in the early to mid-afternoon for &frac12\; da

 additional cost (approximately $20)\n&nbsp\;\nGina has both bachelor&rsq
 uo\;s and master&rsquo\;s degrees in Music Education from the University
  of Connecticut.&nbsp\; She taught high school and middle school choirs 
 for ten years including at Algonquin Regional High School. Gina is a reg
 istered Music Together teacher and received her training from the Center
  for Music and Young Children in Princeton\, New Jersey. Gina has been t
 eaching young children and their families for the past three years in No
 rthborough\, Westborough and Shrewsbury. She has played the piano since 
 the age of 4 and has been an accompanist for many choirs over the years.
  Gina is an advocate for early childhood music education.
