About this column:

Our pick of the week for the best place to eat in, or around, town. Grab a seat, make a reservation, and eat out in town.
Now, that's a lot of beef. Smoky, grilled, premium beef, at that. Fernando Valverde won the most recent Texas BBQ  Company drawing. Each Thursday, the restaurant gives diners a chance at winning an entree. This week, Valverde enjoyed a certified angus beef smoked bone-in ribeye steak, which weighed 2.28 pounds. And this included sides. We're not sure if he finished it.
No one got it this week! We're surprised. But the dishes—Red Curry Chicken and Fresh Thai Rolls—were from Yoong Tong Thai Restaurant, which you should try as soon as possible if you have not. This week, we've got a couple of dishes from a local establishment. Include your guess in the comment section. Northborough Patch will reveal the answer by Friday. Everyone who guesses correctly gets his or her name thrown in to a hat. The…

Guess this one was too tough for you folks. It's a good looking sandwich, isn't it? It tasted great, as well. The grinder—a meatball loaded with onions, provolone and peppers—was from Freshway Pizza. Yes, Freshway is a chain, but the guys at the Northborough location made this one.   Original Post: So, you think you know Northborough's restaurants well? Manager Mike Botelho let us know that NECN visited Northborough's Sea Dog Steak & Ale this past weekend, featuring the new location on Billy Costa's "TV Diner." Costa nibbled on crab cakes, followed by an 18-ounce ribeye and topped off with a plate of warm cookies and milk. Other than being a bit "underwhelmed" by the veal, "TV Diner" gave Seadog a positive review, which included kudos to the service.  Sea Dog is unveiling its new menu soon. Stay tuned for Northborough Patch for updates.
North End Treats in Framingham has an overwhelming array of indulgent brick oven gourmet pizzas, from the caramelized onion pizza (caramelized onions, pine nuts, olive oil and mozzarella) to the steak pizza bourbon (steak, bell peppers, onions, mozzarella). Large calzones and paninis provide tasty alternatives to the classic pizza. But something else beckons patrons. It is the rich and extravagant pastries lining the shelves of the glass cases. Sample a tiramisu cup. Sink your teeth into one of the popular lobster tail pastries or try a peanut cup. North End Treats is sure to have something …
