Church of the Nativity will hosts its annual “Living Nativity” presentation outdoors on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 6:30 p.m. This musical dramatization of the Christmas story, featuring live actors and animals, features a petting zoo, carol singing, and a "gentle look at the greatest story ever told." Following the 45 minute presentation, a festive party is held indoors in the parish hall featuring refreshments, a Christmas sing-along, and warm fellowship. Trinity Church announced that Trinity Youth Fellowship goes Christmas caroling at local nursing homes on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 5 p.m., singing at the homes of several elderly church members as well. Hot cocoa and cookies served. Anyone in grades 9-12 is welcome. Trinity Church has got a whole lot of activity going on: The Women's Fellowship is collecting cake mixes for Thanksgiving baskets assembled by Helping Hands of Northborough to provide Thanksgiving dinner to folks in need in our town. On Saturday, Oct. 1, Trinity Church is taking part in a Habitat for Humanity "build day." Contact the church to find out more. Every Wednesday, Trinity Church is also home to the "community meal" at 6 p.m. Though it is hosted at Trinity, different churches of Northborough take turns hosting the meal, which is free to the community but donationsn are accepted. St. Bernadette Parish and School is holding its nineteenth annual Fall Festival on Friday, Sept. 23, 5-10 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 24, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. All are welcome to this community event, which benefits St. Bernadette Parish and School programs. The Northborough Church of Christ contintues to collect items for troops overseas, and there is a box located in the foyer for drop-off. This month, the church collects specifically for Derek Johnson and former member Steve Sigafose. Items should be individually wrapped and should not contain chocolate because of the problems with melting. Toiletries, granola bars, breakfast bars, drink mix, trail mix, etc are greatly appreciated. See this page for more ideas. The Seventh Day Adventist Church would like to invite Northborough and surrounding communities to a very special concert at McAfee Park on Saturday, July 23, at 3 p.m. The concert, which will feature gospel music, is being held in the gazebo. Sing it like the Heavens: The Northborough Seventh-Day Adventist Church is planning a free gospel concert that will take place at Ellsworth-McAfee Park on Route 135 on July 23 from 3-5 p.m. The entertainment lineup is still being finalized, but "there will be a variety of musicians, singing groups and instrumentalists," according to one of the organizers, Dawn Diprofio. St. Rose of Lima Parish in Northborough Plants Community Garden: On Saturday, June 4, at 10 a.m. members of the St. Rose of Lima Parish in Northborough will plant for the fourth year the church’s community garden with all produce being donated to the Northborough Food Pantry. A variety of plants will be planted in the garden including tomatoes, yellow squash, zucchini squash, acorn squash, beans and cucumbers. Volunteers will be divided into Farmers of the Week teams during the summer, and they will be responsible for weeding the garden, harvesting and deliver the vegetables to the Pantry. …
Meals for those who need one: Every Wednesday at Trinity Church, there is a community dinner served at 6 p.m. for anyone in town who is in need of a good dinner. It's free, but donations are accepted. Each week, a different church in town hosts this meal.
