A number of building projects are in the works for Northborough.
"It's a very positive indication of what's happening locally, and hopefully with our economy as a whole," said Town Planner Kathy Joubert, who said a number of projects are in the works for Northborough. "We are seeing a lot of redevelopment as a whole, particularly in downtown. There has been quite a flurry around and right after Town Meeting." The Gulf station at 15 Main St. will be temporarily closed, as it is dismantled and rebuilt in the form of a Cumberland Farms convenience and gas center. The station will no longer be a service station, but rather a convenience store with gas pumps. The ZBA has approved a sign for the building in the event that it opens 24 hours, which developers are tentatively planning. Construction will begin …

A fire caused considerable damage to the nightclub/restaurant on Monday.
A fire that started in the mulch and ripped up through the wall into the roof caused a considerable amount of damage to the Celtic Tavern on Monday morning. With its digital sign reading "Thank you, Northborough Fire Department," the Celtic was forced to close this week due to the damage. Trucks from Service Master lined the parking lot the next day, and word is that the Celtic Tavern hopes to be open by mid next-week, according to senior bartender Heather Borge Leroux. "We are still in the process of cleaning," she said. "Service Master has control of the whole building right now, cleaning every inch with a find tooth comb. Talk about a spring cleaning." I'm hoping to drive my old beater into the ground before we need to get another car, but I'm on the lookout. What's your next car going to be?
My wife and I drive a perfectly good 2002 Nissan Sentra with 127,318 miles on it. "Stella" has four wheels and gets us from Point A to Point B. We've reached the stage in the life of the car where we don't repair body damage (as you can tell from the accompanying photo). I'm ashamed for my Dad to see it. But hey, it's paid for. Even though I'd love to get 200K miles out of Stella, she has some mechanical problems, like a seized bolt that has left the transmission fluid unchangeable for about eight years. She could conk out any old day. So we've been on the lookout for our next car. I'm paying attention to car commercials, asking friends about their cars. You know the feeling. We're looking for something that gets good gas mileage, and is …
