Saturday, March 9th 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
The Northboro Junior Woman’s Club will be holding its seventh “Women In Science & Math Conference” to give middle school girls the opportunity to explore careers in science and math. After an opening presentation, the girls will be able to attend four different 35-minute interactive, hands-on career workshops. Presenters will represent fields such as Forensic Chemistry, Robotics, Architecture, DNA Extraction, Sustainability/Going Green and Veterinary Medicine among others. The presenters will explain what they do in their occupation, share different tips on courses of study and ways to train for their profession, and provide hands-on exploration/activities.
A luncheon will follow the workshops and offer an opportunity for the students and presenters to continue discussions in a more informal setting. The conference will conclude with a group activity and closing speaker.
Registration forms can be found on line at www.northborojuniors.org
and on the Northborough Town Hall bulletin board.
The conference is free and open to the first 120 girls to register.
