New Lanes Exiting Northborough Crossing (Wegmans)
New traffic lanes have been painted on Route 20 at the north entrance to Nortborough Crossing. If you are heading south on Route 20, you'll notice there is now a left turn only lane and an unmarked lane.
Drivers often pass cars turning into Nortborough Crossing by using the left turn only lane. I'm thinking this could be a problem as people exiting left out of the entrance may believe that the driver in the left turn only lane on 20 will slow down and turn left but they are actually going straight and potentially at 50 mph.
It's always best to drive defensively but I'm wondering if this might lead to accidents. I've attached a diagram.

I dont understand how one exit/entrance they can see the need for a traffic light and the other, well,, its just mostly people heading into Northborough, let them roll the dice and play with traffic. Honestly, I think a 100 or so of us should picket and demand a traffic light. Perhaps drop a petition on the selectmen, demand this exit be deemed a hazard and make the developer correct it. I wonder, do we need to wait till someone gets killed to look at it?
