Wegmans Issues Recall on Brownie Mix

People who are allergic to milk may have serious or life-threatening allergic reactions to this product, according to the FDA.

 

The Raymond-Hadley Corp. has issued a recall of Wegmans Gluten Free Double Chocolate Brownie mixes because they may have been contaminated with milk.

People who are allergic to milk may have serious or life-threatening allergic reactions to this product, according to the FDA.

The mixes are packaged under the Wegmans brand with the following markings on the packages:

Wegmans Gluten Free Double Chocolate Brownie Mix 17.2OZ, UPC 077890283363, with Enjoy By Dates 30 Oct 2013 – 19 Dec 2013 

According to the FDA:

The voluntary recall was initiated after it was discovered that chocolate chunks used in the mix were received in packaging that did not reveal the presence of the allergen milk. Subsequent investigation confirms milk as a possible cross-contaminate in the chocolate chunks used in the brownie mixes.

As of October 12, 2012, two reports of rash have been received.

Consumers who have purchased the product listed above are urged to return it to Wegmans for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the manufacturer at 1-800-252-2220, Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. EDT.

Thanks for posting. In our case it's walnuts that would provide the problem with allergies. Good to always check contents though.
