Tomahawks Lacrosse and Girls Softball Make Postseason Playoffs

The boys and girls lacrosse teams, as well as the Algonquin softball team, head to post season playoffs this week.

Algonquin Regional spring sports teams will be opening its postseason journey this week.

The Tomahawks boys’ and girls’ lacrosse teams along with the softball team are all taking part in their respective Central Mass. Tournaments.

The boys’ lacrosse team earned the top seed in Division 2 with a record of 16-4 and earns a first round bye. The Tomahawks will host the winner of eighth-seed Nashoba Regional and ninth-seeded Shrewsbury on Wednesday afternoon in the Quarterfinals.

On the girls’ side, Algonquin secured the number three seed in Central Mass. Division 1 with an identical 16-4 record. The Tomahawks will also get a first round bye and host the winner of No. 11 seed Bromfield and sixth-seeded Shrewsbury in the Quarterfinals on Saturday afternoon.

The school’s softball team received the sixth seed in Division 1 Central Mass with a record of 12-8 and will host No.11 seed Doherty on Friday afternoon. A Tomahawk win and they will travel to third-seeded Holy Name on Monday afternoon in the quarterfinals.
