I can't wait for the new phone!! I won't stand in a crazy line or anything. After things calm down a bit I'll go get it.

I'm interested in the phone; I'm not pleased, however, at the fact that it will not (from my understanding) use the same charger. That means a new car charger and spare charger will be necessary and the chargers I've collected over the years with each new iPhone will be rendered obsolete. I also saw that the headphone jack is supposed to be at the bottom of the phone; I'm not thrilled about that, either. But, I'm an Apple lover and I'm sure I'll eventually break down and get the new one.

I am proud to say I have it both ways. I have a top of the line Android that cost 2/3rds of what an iPhone does, and does everything an iPhone does.

But I cheerfully buy stock in Apple. So yes, I am absolutely looking forward to watching everyone around me for over another $700 for a phone that does the same things last year's phone did.

Oh....they're adding 4G this year you say??? My phone was released last November...with 4G.

Thanks for bolstering my portfolio, everyone!

No more contracts for me.
I am an Android user because all of the latest phones are arguably superior to the iPhone. With regular updates and cutting edge technology google is doing some amazing things.
Rumors are that the iPhone 5 will not have NFC. There will be an explosion of "pay with your phone" in 2013. Iphone users will not be able to take advantage of this new technology.

if you look at the phones side by side, spec for spec, there is no way to justify the cost of the iPhone.

You're paying for the label.

Everyone should check out the Windows phones. They are pretty awesome and don't cost anything near an iPhone. I've had both and the Windows phones are so much better.

I agree, I've had one for almost a year. It does everything my son's iphone does and faster, for half the price.

I'm looking forward to it, because it means the 4S will be a lot cheaper when my contract ends in December. Apple stuff can be affordable if you don't need the latest and greatest to impress people. I've gotten a lot of good use from the 3GS (which I got for $14) and I'm sure I will get as much good use from a 4S.
