Electing him was the start of something good , he'll have much more power in a second term to make a difference on the social and economics issues that the wing nuts on the right are determined to set us back decades

Would be nice if people had to comment on their vote before it was tallied. I believe Obama has done a good job domesticly and abroad. We got bin Ladin on his watch. On oil, he has approved part of the new pipeline project, the part that gets our oil to the refineries. If he had opened up our oil reserves, it would not have hurt the Rich Arabs. Only the poor ones and those are the jihadists that want to hurt us.
In this country we find it hard to wait for the times to get better. Bandaids peel off and you need to reapply new ones. I believe Obama is trying to heal our wounds without bandaids. Lets help him!

His administration are the ones who flooded the North part of the pipe with red tape and have said it's not enviormentally safe! What do you think they are going to use the southern end for without the oil coming from the North? A water slide? No oil will be going to refineries. Are you happy with the gas prices? They were $1.80 when he took office. I'm tired of spending public money on failed technologically obsolete companies like solyndra. Wake up my friend, you're getting taken on a dangerous ride. Do any of you care at all about future generations? I'm 35 and have accepted I'll have no SS, yet still pay for it. How awful will it be for my kids to have be taxed at 50% to pay for over 50% of the population not paying any. A 2nd term would ruin this country.

Tom C, he hasn't "approved" that lower section of the pipeline as he led you to believe, it DOESN'T require Presidential approval! Only ones crossing into the US border needs his approval. See, Obama has been lying and misleading people all over the place!

"Postman" saying it gas was $1.80 in January 2009 is slightly misleading since gas was at an all time high the summer before when the whole economy came crashing down. $4.12 a gallon during the Bush administration. The oil cartel will get as much as they can from us regardless of what we do domestically. We cannot drill enough oil to sustain our own consumption, we need them, and they know it.

Postman, there's a lot more to the future than gas prices. As for your tax fears....turn off Fox News, stop listening to Limbaugh, and do just a little background research. I don't know if you'll ever accept Obama as President, but you'll certainly feel a lot better about things.

No! President Obama has increased national debt; ignored the constitution and miss represented his intentions on the direction he wishes to take our nation.

All kidding aside, the national Debt really, truly belongs to the previous admin. Obama's just tried to fix it. It's OK if you don't like how he's gone about it...but he essentially inherited the inbox from Hell when he took office.

Can you back your statement with data? If you check the facts, Obama has generated 5 Trillion $ in debt in 4 years. Bush generated $1 Trillion in 8 years.

I will absolutely vote for him proudly! God help us if Romney were to be president! I voted for Obama the first time. Maybe things would move faster and could have already, had not the republicans done everything in their power to stop him even if it were to help Americans. It's really sad when some men are motivated only by their own personal wealth and the hell with everyone else. By the way, isn't it a treat to have an intelligent president for a change?

Obama had 2 years of a super majority in both the House and Senate the first 2 years of his presidency so the republicans didn't stop him from anything. All I know is that since he took office unemployment has gone up, oil prices have gone up, my healthcare premiums have gone up, and inflation has gone up. At the same time my 401k has decreased, the value of my home has decreased, and my salary has decreased. Are you better off than you were 4 years ago? I know I'm not!

In the two years that he was able to get something done before being stonewalled by partisan nonsense from the GOP, he got a LOT done... including stopping the freefall of the American economy and turning a PROFIT on TARP... you know, the TRILLION dollars the GOP gave to the ealthiest of the wealthy after they shafted the entire country?

Paul,
I think you have your facts wrong. Guess what the American Economy is still in free fall. Tarp paid off State and Local Government overspending. After 2009 it disappeared, what happened to the stimulus.
Oh yes, GM and AIG are government owned entitiies. The US Government wont break even until GM share price hits $50. Current the stock is at $21. Where the profit you mentioned. AIG is still trying to sell assets to pay back the government 3 years later. Where the profit there?
Maybe you should rethink what you said after checking the facts.

Gas prices are have nothing to do with who is president.. LOL. Gas prices have to do with three things- supply, demand, and speculation. What nobody wants to talk about is that THIS, as well as EVERY other economic catasrophe the American economy, was brought brough about the very same way.. overspeculation in markets. Gas prices at the pump are set by the wholesaler, who have to buy it on the commodity market, which is inflated and manipulated by intraday programmed buying and selling. Please get an economics book, Macro is enough, microecon isn't needed. Adam Smith's Invisible Hand is around your throat, and you think he's giving you a hug..

One can argue about lost civil liberties after 9/11 but from 2006 - 2009 the congress had a chance to repeal some of those so called laws taking away civil liberties and guess who had total control during those years and they did nothing what they the democrats did do was change spending habits which sped up the process that gave us the recession that started in 2008 and still has not ended. Under the current admin the country has gotten worse this mad man that was elected king needs to go. He has set back race relations in this country 30 years or more. Economically, forget kids or grand kids it is us the parents now who are doomed. End of story.

Folks,
This Nov. we will repeat history from the 1979 Election of Ronald Reagan. Obama is just another Jimmy Carter. Obama has no qualifications for being President and the American people found out the hard way;
1) 22% Unemployment
2) 16 Trillion $ in Debt
3) Taken us back to endless government and endless regulation
4) The only people he bailed out was private and public unions and his buddies in
the government.
He would have been a great president in the USSR. One more thing, GM and AIG are broke 3 years later. They all exist as government entities. Cut the string and bye bye GM and AIG.
