Northborough was named one of the “Best Places to Live” by Boston magazine “because of one ridiculously great grocery store” in the March 2012 issue.  The magazine’s theme of “best places to live” is places that are maybe not the most well known areas or frequent these types of lists typically.

Joining such places as Acton, Somerville, Lakeville and Plymouth, the magazine said it tried to stay within the 495 loop, but had to drive beyond ... because of Northborough, and that amazing grocery store. “If there’s one thing we’ll endure a longer commute for, it’s the new mega grocery store Wegmans," wrote Boston Magazine. "Northborough denizens have flipped for the New York company’s first New England outpost, a shiny 138,000-square-foot space teeming with gourmet goodies.”

Kevin Russell, the store manager for , said he's glad to be in this community. "We're humbled and honored that people would think that," he said. "Of course it made me feel good, and just appreciative and honored."

According to the magazine, the median home price in Northborough is $367,000, a one year increase of 4 percent.
