5 Things You Need to Know Today: May 11

There's registration for music classes and soccer clinics in the day, and the clubs are hopping at night. Check it.

Our morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.

1. Ususally Normal, a rock cover band, is back at JJ's tonight. And hold on to your pants and hats, folks: Never in Vegas, the area's latest sensation, is returning to the Celtic Tavern tonight.

2. You should be getting ready, or ready, for two important actions tomorrow. First, it's Stamp Out Hunger day. That means to leave nonperishable items out for your letter carrier so he or she can deliver them to the Northborough Food Pantry. Secondly, it's take it or leave it day at the DPW. That's the perfect time to drop off, or acquire electronics, appliances and other items.

3. Today, Apple Country Music holds spring registration all day.

4. What do you think of Obama's change of stance on gay marriage? Take our poll.

5. The mid-summer Fast Feet Soccer Clinic registration is open. For boys and girls 8-14 years old, this skill-improvement clinic takes place at the Melican School in July.
