5 Things You Need to Know Today: Dec. 17

Nights out for preschoolers and older kids. Also, the contra dance is back, as is the living nativity.

Our morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.

1. The kids get a night out tonight. Well, "night" being 4 p.m. Drop by the Recreation Department located in the Town Hall for some pizza and funsies.

2. The Church of the Nativity is hosting its annual living nativity scene at the church at 6:30 p.m.

3. There's a community breakfast with Santa at the Assabet Valley Regional High School this morning. Ho, ho, ho.

4. The preschoolers have a "night out" over at the Southwest Cutoff location of the Rec Center.

5. The Allemand North Band provides the music at tonight's contra dance at First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church.
