Storm Info From the Town, Including Shelter and Debris Drop-Off

Shelter facilities available at Northborough Senior Center 119 Bearfoot Rd.
The Center is currently open and will remain open overnight Monday for residents who are without heat and power. Cots for sleeping will be provided, however residents must supply their own bedding, toiletries and medications. The shelter will remain open through 6:00 PM Tuesday, Nov. 1. The town will review the need for further sheltering at that time.
Access to shower facilities The YMCA located at 4 Valente Drive in Westborough (across from the Christmas Tree Shop Plaza) is allowing any Town resident to use its shower facilities at no charge. The YMCA is open Monday – Friday 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. There is also a single shower available at the Senior Center located at 119 Bearfoot Rd. during normal business hours.
Access to potable water is available from the spigot at the following locations: Northborough Cemetery – located on Howard Street (across from the ZEH School); Northborough Community Gardens-located at 71 Valentine Rd.
Access to internet and cell phone charging is available at the following location: Senior Center located at 119 Bearfoot Road—Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Tuesday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Storm related tree debris can be brought to the highway garage at 190 Main Street on business days between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Additionally, special drop-offs are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 5 and Saturday, Nov. 19 between 8 a.m. and noon. The brush drop-off is for Northborough residents only and no commercial vehicles will be permitted. Proof of residency is required.
Residents should not stack storm debris at the roadside. There will be no roadside debris pick up; all debris should be taken to the High Garage as specified above.
Power Update National Grid is advising that it may take until later in the week to fully restore power to its Northborough customers. Those areas that experienced direct damage from the storm could take longer. In addition, residents who had power lines come off of their homes must contact an electrician for repairs. Residents are urged to use extreme caution around downed wires as they may be live.
